Jonathan's style has evolved tremendously through the years. Rusty Scott provided Jonathan fluency in bebop and a strong connection to foundational pianists Bud Powell, Oscar Peterson, Wynton Kelly, and Bill Evans. From there, Jonathan explored the worlds of Puerto Rican and Cuban jazz as well as modal, rhythmic, and thematic approaches to creating new sounds in jazz.
